I decided to go with the name Wood Between the Woods as the concept of this wiki is similar to that place. Anyone know what the title is referencing? Or is it too obscure?
The concept is good and those who love fantasy will surely identify with it.
I assume you refer to "The Wood between the Worlds" linking Narnia to Earth as per C.S. Lewis fantasy?
I also see you expantiated the title to also include the text:
"True20 Campaign Settings and Resources".
But did you use Text-as-Fonts or Text-as-Graphics. Note that graphics are not searchable.
If it is text, then it will help out during meta-search for True20 Campaign Settings.
(ps. I wonder if the C.S. Lewis fantasy worlds fit well into True20 game mechanics?)
It most definitely is a reference to Lewis' Magician's Nephew as both that place and this site are in many ways the same. We won't need green and yellow rings to access each world through the ponds, however.
I'm not sure about the Text-as-Fonts vs Graphics. I believe they are fonts.
I'd love to see a Narnia/Lewis+ True20. Maybe a Space Trilogy even more than Narnia, actually.
Both header and sub header are text-as-fonts, so people can search those words.
I've been thinking … how would people who are interested in / looking for True20 information find this wiki guide? Shouldn't the title actually reflect the content within? Like The True20 Wiki or The True20 Library - A Wiki Guide for Green Ronin's True20 Adventure Roleplaying Game.
On another note, I also think we should make this wiki public, so anyone can join the wiki. This can be done using the membership by password, and displaying the password on the same page. By doing this, you don't have to approve each request.
That is probably a better idea. But having something like The True20 Library - A Wiki Guide for Green Ronin's True20 Adventure Roleplaying Game as the subheader would cover that issue, right? Since they're text-as-fonts…
I've attempted to change the join page, but I'm finding it difficult to check it as a new user. Please take a look and change if it needs it. Thank you.
Well … "A Wiki Guide for Green Ronin's True20 Adventure Roleplaying Game" could be too long as a sub header. There's a limit to how many words you can use. However, it could be used as a description on the main page or part of the summary of the site.
The membership by password module seems to be working just fine. You can see for yourself by logging off and visiting the join this site page.
I went back and forth with this, but in the end K.I.S.S. won. So True20 Wiki it is. That's fine.
Hello guys, I see a lot has happened during the few days of my absence.
Of course the simple name "True 20 Wiki" works well for Google-searches since it has all the key words in the name as text in the header. :-)
Actually, direct names are always the best strategy. I just won an action to use Diginamics.com for my company after stalking it for 2 years.
So, I shall support the "True 20 Wiki" name even though I wonder if we can stick "Wood Between the Worlds" as our Directory sub-header
(ps. I just noticed that the tags in this Wiki are not the default used on PHP forums for Italics. I wonder what coding software is used?)
